Role Overview
We have an opportunity for an Electrician, based from Welwyn Garden City, to be a part of the day‑to‑day Responsive Repairs Team (consisting of a team of 6). The main responsibilities of this role include providing efficient and cost effective electrical maintenance tasks, providing quality customer care in a demanding role and providing our customers with a first‑time fix wherever possible. This role will also include using our work app on a smartphone to accept jobs and carry out works – it could be changing an extractor fan, or to carry out a mutual exchange electrical check. This role is predominantly lone working, carrying our electrical repairs and maintenance in a variety of tenanted properties. This role does cover a large area, however a company van and power tools will be provided for business use.
Key Responsibilities
* Carrying out installation, fault fixing and maintenance duties
* Providing accurate and timely information on progress and advice that is easily understood by the customer and ensuring accurate daily work records are completed
* Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery to meet customer expectations
* Resolving problems or setting into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed in line with agreed processes and within contract and service specifications
* Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and stocks are replenished as needed, in accordance with the agreed requisition procedures and budgets
Skills and Experiences
* To ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to 18th Edition – 3rd and 4th amendment, NVQ Level 3 in core electrics, City & Guilds 2391‑52, and AM2 (or currently undertaking the qualifications). As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
* Recent experience of undertaking a similar role
* Proven experience of analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
* Ability to use and update computerised systems (including PDA) for work scheduling
* Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation
* Excellent interpersonal and customer care skills
* This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK manual driving licence
