Private Client Tax Senior - Hybrid | St Albans
Are you a skilled tax professional looking to take ownership of a diverse personal client portfolio? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing Private Client Tax team in a senior role, delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services to a varied client base.
Role and Location
As a Private Client Tax Senior, you'll manage a portfolio of individuals with complex income streams, including earned and investment income. You'll work under the guidance of an Assistant Manager, taking responsibility for day-to-day tax matters and contributing to technical advisory work.
Hybrid working model:
* Typically three days per week in the St Albans office
* Remaining days remote
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all aspects of personal tax compliance for a varied client portfolio
* Act as the primary point of contact for clients
* Handle tax matters for partnerships and high-net-worth individuals
* Collaborate with other departments on cross-functional client issues
* Advise on capital gains tax and deliver technical advisory assignments
* Support ad hoc compliance and advisory projects
* Attend client meetings and manage billing, fees, and WIP
Skills & Expertise
Technical Requirements:
* ATT qualified (essential)
* CTA qualification in progress or planned
* Strong experience in Self-Assessment and tax computations
* Familiarity with EIS, VCT, SEIS reliefs
* Knowledge of UK residence and domicile rules
* Ability to research and apply tax legislation and HMRC guidance
Client Experience:
* Private individuals and owner-managed business proprietors
* Non-UK domiciled and non-resident clients
* UK-based high-net-worth individuals
* Property investors
Professional Competencies:
* Commercial awareness of billing, WIP recovery, and profitability
* Proactive in identifying opportunities and delivering high-quality work
* Strong communication and presentation skills
* Collaborative team player with a focus on operational improvement

Salary & Benefits
* £41,000 - £45,000 per year
