First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our reputable client who is seeking a Commercial Gas Engineer to join their team in Dagenham.
As a member of our client’s heating maintenance team, you will be responsible for servicing and repairing a variety of boilers and associated controls and equipment within the plant room. You will also perform fault finding and repairs in client properties. We are looking for a customer-focused individual with excellent communication skills who can work professionally and maintain high standards in accordance with current regulations and legislation.
Our client is a property maintenance and installation organization, with the Mechanical arm specializing in the servicing, repair, and installation of gas central heating and hot water services to local authority and Housing Association landlords.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Work alongside a team of operatives who service, repair, maintain, and install gas appliances and all associated fittings within client-owned boiler and plant rooms. Carry out repairs within dwellings to maintain heating and hot water in accordance with client wishes and current industry guidelines.
* Service, repair, and maintain breakdowns of gas appliances and central heating systems on client premises.
* Have a sound knowledge of our industry.
* Ensure the correct resources and materials are supplied for each job. Ensure the security and correct operation of plant and equipment supplied, including vehicles, flue gas analysis meters, and mobile data equipment such as PDAs.
* Complete all certification and documentation accurately and in accordance with Data Protection and Information Security regulations.
* Maintain a high level of literacy and numeracy.
* Apply a logical and methodical approach to problem solving and fault diagnosis.
* Stay focused and maintain mental concentration to follow a problem through to a satisfactory outcome.
* Handle potentially angry or upset people professionally and cope with the emotional demands of such situations.
* Work as part of a team and independently, showing initiative in dealing with situations and completing tasks.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
Essential:
* All relevant Commercial ACS Gas Qualifications.
* Certificate of Asbestos Awareness Training.
* Previous experience diagnosing faults on Commercial gas appliances.
* Full driving license.
* Ability to manage change.
* Ability to work alone and within a team.
* Knowledge of Energy Efficiency.
* DAH1, Unvented Hot Water, WRAS (Water Supply Regulations 1999).
* Certificate of Training Achievement for Working at Height, Manual Handling, First Aid (1-Day), or other relevant training.
* Excellent organization and time management skills.
* Ability to keep technically up-to-date and apply new knowledge to your role.
