Intermediate Building Services Engineer – Mechanical

The Opportunity
They are seeking an Intermediate Building Services Engineer (Mechanical) to join a growing team based in Billericay. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects, primarily within the healthcare and education sectors. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality mechanical building services designs while supporting projects from initial concept through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver mechanical building services designs to a high technical standard, on time and within budget.
* Prepare detailed engineering calculations, specifications, reports, and drawings.
* Meet with clients to understand project requirements and develop practical engineering solutions.
* Assist in the preparation and review of tender documentation, reports, and recommendations.
* Manage projects through all stages of design and construction.
* Carry out site inspections, surveys, commissioning activities, and condition assessments.
* Monitor installation works and ensure compliance with project specifications.
* Develop energy strategies and sustainable mechanical design solutions.
* Produce designs using IES software, AutoCAD, and Revit.
* Coordinate pipework and ductwork distribution systems with other disciplines.
* Support monthly fee forecasting and project financial performance.
About You
* A Degree or Master's qualification in Engineering.
* Experience in mechanical building services design within the built environment.
* Proficiency with IES mechanical design software.
* Knowledge of AutoCAD and ideally Revit.
* A good understanding of current building regulations, CIBSE guidance, industry standards, and best practice.
* Strong communication and project coordination skills.
* A proven ability to manage workloads and meet project deadlines.
* Chartered Engineer status or be working towards chartership.
* Membership of CIBSE, the Energy Institute, or a similar professional body (desirable).
* A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
