Overview
We are looking for a Physical Health Nurse with a passion for delivering outstanding care. 40 hours a week (Mon to Friday 9am to 5pm) at Cygnet Hospital Hexham, a 27‑bed mental health facility for women with complex needs. The hospital offers a therapeutic environment and is part of a national network delivering specialist mental health services.
Job Responsibilities
* Support patients with physical health matters and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to maintain physical health profiles.
* Implement healthy dietary options, smoking cessation programs, and perform routine blood tests, ECGs and other physical health assessments.
* Produce outstanding written reports based on nursing assessments & observations.
* Work closely with the management team to develop the service, audit, and improve quality.
* Attend all training and engage in CPD to further knowledge and promote nursing.
* Under NMC guidelines, ensure care plans are complete and maintained with residents, relatives and other health professionals.
* Administer medicines within healthcare procedures and Healthcare Commission guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience
* Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current pin number.
* Ability to maintain documentation, undertake audits and demonstrate integrity.
* Good understanding of the latest nursing practices.
* Commitment to patient recovery, risk management and empowerment of service‑user independence.
* Capability to deputise in a clinical lead role.
* Interest in leadership, research and assessment.
