This is an exciting opportunity to join the Oxford Martin Programme on Decarceration and the Forensic Psychiatry Research Group within the Department of Psychiatry, under the supervision of Professor Seena Fazel. The post holder will work independently to conduct systematic reviews on key issues in the criminal justice system, including sentencing and recidivism. The Oxford Martin Programme on Decarceration is an interdisciplinary research collaboration that aims to generate evidence around sentencing and alternatives to imprisonment to impact policy‑making in these areas.

Responsibilities
The post is part‑time (20% FTE) and funded for 12 months. It is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital. The post holder will independently undertake systematic reviews and evidence synthesis, including meta‑analysis where appropriate, coordinate and manage the project, manage research data and prepare reports, and manage their own academic research and administrative activities. They will analyse qualitative and quantitative data, contribute to publications, and present findings at conferences.
Qualifications
Applicants should hold a bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field and have demonstrable experience in conducting high‑quality systematic reviews, including meta‑analysis. They should possess specialist knowledge relevant to the research programmes and be confident managing their own academic research and associated activities. Experience contributing to publications and presentations is required; the ability to generate ideas for new research projects and potential research income is desirable. Excellent communication skills are essential.
