The Role
Reporting to the Product Realisation Manager, this is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Verification Engineer to join our growing engineering team. You’ll have expertise in hardware verification. Understanding/Familiarity of the other appreciated. You will be responsible for conducting hardware tests, and managing the operation of lab equipment.
This role is open to be located out of our Theale, Reading office or our head office in Colchester, Essex.
What will I be delivering?
The role will cover several areas including:
* Verify products against design requirements and support design improvements.
* Test technologies including Ethernet, PCIe, Microcontrollers, FPGA, and interfaces (SPI, I2C, RS232, RS485, MIL-STD-1553).
* Conduct firmware and hardware testing using defined specifications.
* Execute test plans and test cases across components and systems.
* Collaborate with engineering teams on test strategies and debugging.
Verification & Qualification
* Develop and maintain test plans, strategies, and coverage aligned to requirements.
* Execute verification testing, analyze results, and document findings.
* Debug issues, perform root cause analysis, and track defects.
* Perform environmental testing (thermal, vibration, humidity, shock) to validate product robustness.
* Ensure compliance with relevant standards and support design improvements.
* Maintain and optimise test processes, documentation, and test suites.
What are we looking for?
* Linux and basic scripting/programming.
* Understanding of verification and qualification methodologies.
* Experience with embedded systems and lab equipment (oscilloscope, DMM, logic analyzer).
* Good communication and teamwork.
* Understanding of electronics safety and handling principles
* Organisational and documentation of testing processes and results.
* Strong analytical skills for evaluating testing outcomes and defect analysis.
* Understanding of hardware single board computers
* Familiarity with Intel CPUs, x86_64 / ARM / RISC-v architectures
