Hywel Dda University Health Board is looking to appoint an innovative, proactive and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our Children and Young People’s Occupational Therapy Service. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as the Clinical Lead for Occupational Therapy within the Pembrokeshire area for a period of twelve months to cover maternity leave of the existing Clinical Lead.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Work as an integral part of the Occupational Therapy Service for Children and Young People delivering high quality, evidence-based occupational therapy to children from birth up to eighteen years of age (nineteen if there is a diagnosed learning disability and the young person is attending specialist education).
* Deliver Occupational Therapy services within the Pembrokeshire area.
* Work within a specialist school setting as part of a Service Level Agreement.
* Carry a complex caseload working within clinic, education and home environments and liaise closely with staff within the Local Authority as part of a joint working agreement.
* Support the delivery and development of the service across the footprint of the Health Board.
* Liaise with professional networks across Wales and the United Kingdom relating to your area of specialism as part of service development, clinical governance and to improve clinical practice.
* Offer training and support to the wider Occupational Therapy Service for Children and Young People, supervise staff and offer clinical placements to support the development of occupational therapy students within Wales.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

* Two integrated care centres: Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings
* 47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 97 community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers
* Numerous mental health and learning disabilities services
