The role
AsSenior Solicitor, you will providehigh-quality, pragmatic legal advice to senior management, committees, andstaff across the university. You will manage a varied caseload with minimalsupervision, covering commercial contracts, procurement, intellectual property,employment law, and property matters. Responsibilities include drafting andnegotiating agreements, advising on compliance and regulatory issues,supporting procurement processes, and acting as deputy to the Head of Legalwhen required. You will also contribute to the development of a responsive andprofessional legal service and mentor junior team members.
What you'll need to succeed
* Qualified Solicitor or Barrister eligible to practise in England and Wales.
* Strong experience in commercial law and contract negotiation.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to manage complex legal matters independently and under time pressure.
* Knowledge of employment law and procurement law; familiarity with charity law and intellectual property is desirable.
