Programme Quality Engineer
Midlands (UK)
Contract (Outside IR35) or Permanent
The Role
We’re looking for a Programme Quality Engineer to drive quality excellence across new product introductions, ensuring robust planning and flawless execution from concept through to production. You’ll play a key role in delivering APQP milestones, supporting customer requirements, and embedding proactive quality practices across the full programme lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Support APQP deliverables and ensure alignment with customer expectations
* Drive quality activities across NPI, including ISIR, capability studies, AAR, and PPAP
* Develop and optimise measurement systems using SPC and support DOE activities
* Contribute to design reviews and prototype builds
* Create and maintain Control Plans and support D/PFMEA reviews
* Prepare, review, and audit PPAP submission packs
* Lead root cause analysis (8D) and implement effective containment actions
* Provide training and guidance to cross-functional teams on quality standards
* Support production teams to meet customer and quality requirements
* Ensure successful PSW submission and approval
* Promote continuous improvement through data-driven and digital quality methods
About You
* Proven experience in Quality Engineering within the automotive sector
* Qualified to Degree, HND, HNC, IQA level or equivalent
* Strong expertise in Control Plans and PFMEA development and auditing
* Experience with APIS IQ (or similar) for PFMEA and Control Plans
* Solid background in PPAP preparation and review
* Confident conducting audits and influencing cross-functional teams
* Strong knowledge of APQP, IATF 16949, and ISO 9001
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Background in plastics and/or complex assembly (desirable)
* Experience working with OEMs such as Jaguar Land Rover (advantageous)
