Due to company growth, an exciting new position has been created for an experienced Management Accountant, to join a small accounts team within a well-established SME, supporting the Finance Director in a full-time, hands on role.
Job Role
Your key duties will involve preparing and managing month-end accounts, and assist with the supervision and development of a small accounting team of two. You will process month end journals, bank reconciliations and oversee purchase and sales ledgers along with payments. You will also handle routine tax compliance including VAT, CIS and PAYE, as well as other tasks within the accounting function.
This is an office based role at our Worcestershire office, which is essential for project/collaboration based work and accounts meetings, however there is possibility for remote working within a balanced hybrid arrangement.
Experience required
To be considered for this position you will have a well-established background in finance and worked within a similar role. You will be AAT qualified, part qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA or qualified by experience and have a strong working knowledge of Sage 50 and key MS excel skills. Awareness of project management and costing packages is desirable, as is previous exposure to the Construction Industry and the import of goods.
Person Specification
You will be highly motivated to understand how systems and processes work, with a keen eye for detail to ensure accurate processing of data and strong analytical skills. Exceptional communication skills are key to build internal and external relationships and you must be able to manage workloads and meet deadlines. You will be capable of working autonomously, but also comfortable with supporting colleagues and sharing knowledge within the team.
