In this role, you will be responsible for managing a large portfolio of capital projects, providing MEICA and Civil engineering construction solutions for wastewater, water production, waste, and water network functions, both above and below ground.
What you will be doing as an Engineering Delivery Manager
We are seeking a commercially astute and motivated individual to provide MEICA and Civil Engineering construction solutions across Thames Water's process and network functions, covering both Clean and Wastewater Assets. You will ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, quality standards, contractual specifications, commercial objectives, and project deadlines.
The main responsibilities include:
1. Being an integral part of the Capital Maintenance Projects team.
2. Managing procurement processes, framework suppliers, and subcontractor supply chains involved in site-based construction activities.
3. Directly overseeing resource management, and the training, development, and support of Project Engineers.
4. Providing estimates, programming, and planning support to the wider team.
5. Ensuring all construction projects are delivered on time and meet client specifications.
6. Managing client site requirements to minimize operational impact.
7. Delivering projects in compliance with legislative, CDM, and regulatory standards, including Health & Safety, Environmental, and HR requirements.
The role is based in Guildford, with travel across the area, and requires being office-based five days a week. A valid driving license is necessary as the role includes a car allowance.
Working hours are 36 per week, Monday to Friday.
What you should bring to the role
* Experience in a commercial and technical role, preferably with a degree/HND in engineering or business administration, and post-qualification experience.
* A proven track record in project management within an engineering environment, with knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and ICA systems.
* Experience managing procurement processes, suppliers, and subcontractor supply chains for site-based construction.
* Ability to manage resources and support staff development.
* Capability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to specifications, complying with all relevant standards and regulations.
