Our client, a leading entity in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Security Advisor specialising in Access Control to join their team on a contract basis for 12 months. Based in Barrow with hybrid arrangements, this role offers a unique opportunity to be part of critical security operations within the submarine solutions business unit. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and execute security tasks based on relevant policies, standards, procedures, and best practices of the assigned workstream. Respond to and maintain records of security incidents, escalating where needed. Provide regular reports on security activities to inform decision-making at more senior levels. Support security investigations through the provision of information. Maintain personnel security and access control processes and procedures to assure the integrity of BAE employees. Provide advice and guidance on routine security queries for the business area. Advise and train others, with support from senior colleagues, in routine security procedures. Raise security awareness among employees in the local area through inductions and model behaviours that reflect the organisation's values. Job Requirements: Experience in admin within a security context, particularly in defence. Good knowledge of personnel security, information security, cyber and IT security, cryptographic management, and asset protection. Understanding of legislation and regulations related to the assigned business area. Proficiency in written and verbal communication. Good working knowledge of MS Office applications. Appropriate entry-level Security qualification from a certified body, where relevant. Ability to achieve and maintain required SQEP for nuclear security and safety baselines if necessary.
