An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our dedicated team of radiographers in a busy MRI environment on a fixed-term contract of 12 months. The post is based at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital, and applications from part-time, job share, and full-time candidates will be considered.
Department Overview
MRI has two Siemens scanners, Aera 1.5T and Sola 1.5T, alongside two GE Revolution CT scanners. This forms the Diagnostic Hub, which plays a significant role in early diagnostics and ambulatory care within the Health Board. We perform a comprehensive range of MRI examinations, including cardiac, whole body, prostate, breast, enterography, and peripheral angiography.
We run regular Paediatric GA lists and have introduced 'Bed Time' Scanning Lists to reduce the need for GA examinations for our paediatric population. We actively support staff development, including training in IV cannulation and image appreciation, such as reporting on orbit imaging prior to MRI scans where appropriate.
Role Development and Service Initiatives
Current developments include provision of MRI Conditional Pacemaker scanning, Cochlear Implant services, and increased Radiographer vetting and entitlement. Staff also act as referrers for orbit and foot examinations following IR(ME)R 2017 & MRI safe systems of work.

* Participate in the Directorate Quality Assurance Programme, monitoring MRI quality assurance and suggesting improvements.
* Communicate effectively with staff across the Health Board and provide training and guidance to colleagues and students.
