About the role
We are looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. In this role, you will work in a fast-paced retail environment where no day is the same.
You will play a key role in the daily operations of our store by providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves, processing payments, and helping maintain the store’s appearance.
As the customer is at the heart of everything we do, you will constantly seek ways to improve service through on-the-job coaching and feedback.
With your guidance, your store will remain a safe place to work and shop.
Responsibilities
* Serve customers with passion and pride, providing natural, great service.
* Encourage customers to give feedback via the ‘have your say’ survey.
* Work across various store areas including online, tills, replenishment, vending, and stock routines to meet customer needs.
* Apply training to ensure safe working practices.
* Participate in seasonal, community, and charity events to foster an inclusive atmosphere.
* Understand store performance and your role in delivering profit.
* Live our values, make everyone feel welcome, and adhere to policies.
* Clock in and out accurately to ensure correct payment.
* Follow security procedures and wear safety equipment to keep everyone safe.
* Follow the think 25 policy when serving age-restricted products.
* Respond promptly to assistance calls or interventions, explaining your actions to customers.
* Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized store environment.
* Occasionally run the shift in the absence of the Shift Leader or Store Manager.
* Complete all necessary training to ensure safety and compliance.
If the store has a Post Office Local, your duties will include managing daily operations of the post office, which requires passing a financial and criminal background check. Failure to pass these checks will result in withdrawal of the job offer.
