FM Assistant - CATERING - Band 2 - £12.51 per hour (£24,465 per annum pro rata). Basildon Mental Health Unit. This post involves working in the main kitchen; kitchen experience is essential. Staff will be required to support with food preparation, cooking, serving, stock deliveries and cleaning within the kitchen and dining area.
Working hours (example pattern): Week 1: Monday 07:00 – 14:30 and 16:00 – 20:00; Wednesday 07:00 – 14:30; Thursday 07:00 – 14:30; Friday 07:00 – 14:30 and 16:00 – 20:00. Week 2: Tuesday 16:00 – 20:00; Wednesday 16:00 – 20:00; Saturday 07:00 – 14:30 and 16:00 – 20:00; Sunday 07:00 – 14:30 and 16:00 – 20:00.
This post includes Unsocial Hours Payments as follows: Saturday – Time plus 41% of the salary; Sunday – Time plus 83% of the salary.
Main duties
 * Ensure assigned ward(s) / areas are cleaned in accordance with the Work Schedule (vacuuming, sweeping, scrubbing and mopping floors; high and low dusting; wiping and polishing surfaces, mirrors, chairs, bed frames, bins and sani-bins).
 * Clean toilets, sinks, baths and showers; clean cookers, regeneration ovens, fridges and other kitchen equipment; defrost fridges regularly; restock consumables (toilet tissue, hand towels, soap); descaling taps and manage bins and liners.
 * Stock replenishment and general cleaning within kitchen and dining areas, ensuring hygiene and safety standards are met.
 * *Provision of cleaning where body fluids are not involved.
