Estates & Facilities Directorate Post and Portering Team Post and Portering Assistant Ref: GG714 Salary on appointment will be £23,742 per annum. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic team player with a 'can do' attitude to join the Estates and Facilities Directorate as a Post and Portering Assistant. Key duties of the role include working as part of our well-respected Post and Portering team to deliver a portering service to support the University's needs. These include: Supporting our key events, such as Open Days, Assessments and Graduation Ceremonies. Carrying single boxes to help staff who are relocating across the campus and supporting large scale staff moves as part of refurbishment projects. Moving furniture to support major University Projects. You will also work with the team to provide a postal counter service for our 4,000 student residents to collect their mail from, along with a delivery service of mail and parcels to the Schools and departments across our main campus and the nearby research park. You will be a good communicator with a customer focussed approach. You will also have an awareness of manual handling, health and safety and be a competent IT user. There is a requirement for some flexibility regarding working hours, to support key events and campus users. A full UK driving licence, experience in a similar role and DIY related skills are not essential but would be advantageous. This full-time post is available immediately on an indefinite basis.
