Overview
Based at Perth Grammar School, Perth. An exciting part-time, fixed-term opportunity (18 hours per week, all year) to support the delivery of family learning and parental engagement within a range of Early Learning & Childcare (ELC) settings. The post is based at Perth Grammar School covering a range of ELC settings across Perth & Kinross. This is a fixed term post ending on 31 March 2026. Interviews are anticipated to be held on 26 September 2025. The earliest years of life are crucial to a child\'s development and have a lasting impact on outcomes in health, education and employment opportunities later in life. Perth & Kinross aims to ensure all families have access to high quality family learning within the early years to enable parents/carers to support their children and grow up healthy, happy, attaining and achieving. Family learning focuses on intergenerational learning and may be designed to enable parents to learn how to support their children\'s learning.
The Successful Candidate will develop positive relationships with families by organising a range of family learning opportunities in the local community. These may include:

* Play on Pedals
Successful candidates will work directly with parents and families (collectively and individually) to support children\'s learning and development at home.
Responsibilities
The role involves developing and delivering family learning opportunities, engaging with parents and carers, and supporting children\'s development across a range of ELC settings.
Skills & Experience Required
You should hold an appropriate qualification e.g. SNNEB, NNEB, HNC, SCQF level 7 equivalent or SVQ 3 in Childcare and Education or SVQ 3 Social Services (Children and Young People). The successful candidate will have a genuine interest and commitment to working with families in a professional capacity.
Successful Candidates Must Have
* Previous experience supporting families in an ELC setting, with understanding of national and local policies and frameworks to develop this work further.
* Experience and skills in working with parents, young people or children.
* Experience in engagement, development and delivery of community-based learning (organising groups and delivering learning programmes).
* A commitment to inclusion.
* IT and computer skills.
* Interpersonal skills with the ability to listen and communicate effectively with others.
* Experience of effective team working.
* A flexible approach and ability to work at various times, locations and situations.
* Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle as travel to locations across Perth & Kinross is required.
* Experience and skills in group work.
* Previous training in Peep Learning Together, Solihull Approach - Foundation (training can be provided if not already held).
* An understanding of the importance of play.
