This exciting opportunity for a Planning & Scheduling Manager has arisen following the promotion of the current postholder. This is a full-time, permanent position based at our fantastic Bradford bakery.
Who are we looking for?
For this role, your organisation skills will be of absolute paramount importance.
You will play a pivotal role in overseeing the entire production planning process, ensuring seamless operations by orchestrating the timely availability of raw materials, packaging, and labour resources. The ideal candidate will possess a keen attention to detail and a strategic mindset to optimise our production schedules effectively.
With comprehensive knowledge of supply chain management principles, you will be responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels while minimising waste and costs.
Strong communication skills are essential for this role, as the Planning & Scheduling Manager will be required to liaise effectively with both internal stakeholders and third-party logistics (3PL) suppliers. This includes working with our commercial team on customer sales/production forecasts and managing relationships with our 3PL partners to ensure the smooth and efficient distribution of finished goods to our consolidator's depot, aligning with our sales requirements and deadlines.
The role demands a proactive problem solver with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You'll need to demonstrate adaptability and resilience in managing unforeseen challenges while maintaining a focus on continuous improvement and optimization of our production and distribution processes.
Experience working with an MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning) system will be essential.

The role of Planning & Scheduling Manager at BBF
From the production plan, ensure the supply of raw materials and packaging to meet sales requirements.
Responsible daily for organising the distribution of products from the factory to the consolidator's depot to meet sales requirements.
Ensuring warehouse stock is maintained to meet production requirements.
To meet external standards i.e. BRC, Soil Association and Own Label Customer Audits.
Utilise available planning systems to convert sales forecasts into achievable production and material plans and schedules that optimally balance customer service and operational cost efficiency.
Manage risks within the plan and amend orders where possible/practical to achieve customer service and stock targets.
Share forecasts with suppliers and work with them to resolve issues with materials availability.
Measure, minimise and publish expected obsolete/over stocks (finished product and/or raw materials)
Champion ongoing communication with the operations teams to ensure accurate exchange of information.
Propose and Implement continuous Improvements in own area.
Maintain a state of perpetual audit-readiness for all audits (GMP, H&S, Technical, Customer, Accreditation Bodies etc) to ensure working practices are compliant at all times.
