Electrical Engineer - Tampa, FL (Relocation Package Available)
Our client is seeking a senior-level Electrical Engineer in Tampa, Florida, to design and build high voltage control systems for standby generators, including transformer protection schemes based on field requirements. The role involves developing test components and systems aligned with client specifications, covering switchgear, auxiliary components from 480V to 15kV, automatic transfer schemes, standby generators, paralleling equipment, motor control centers, transformers, and UPS systems.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Support manufacturing, setup, and installation processes.
2. Design high voltage control systems to meet customer requirements.
3. Apply knowledge of switchgear, transfer switches, standby generators, HMI, PLCs (Allen Bradley & Siemens), for medium and high voltage applications (480V to 15kV).
4. Develop electrical testing methods to ensure product quality, assisting manufacturing and quality control teams with final testing.
5. Possess a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 5-10 years of experience in medium to high voltage control systems.
6. Prefer candidates with comprehensive knowledge of medium voltage switchgear, PLCs, VFDs, programming, panel layout, component selection, testing, and modifications.
7. Must understand panel board, lighting, outlet, grounding, conduit, and wiring design.
8. Capable of creating design layout drawings, schematics, wiring, and interconnection diagrams.
9. Willingness to travel less than 10% overnight as needed to define customer requirements with sales or customer support teams.
10. Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electric, and SolidWorks.
11. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across teams, with some leadership experience preferred.
