Role Purpose As the Head of IT Infrastructure, you will play a crucial role within the systems team (and wider across the company), overseeing the evolution of EXA Infrastructure’s IT Infrastructure strategy, and the implementation and operations of the IT Infrastructure that supports EXA Infrastructure’s business. This includes continuously enhancing, optimizing and upgrading EXA Infrastructure’s architecture and operations with respect to compute, storage, security policy implementation, virtualisation, cloud (IaaS) and End-User-Computing capabilities Key responsibilities Providing specialized technical leadership in IT Infrastructure across compute, storage, virtualization, cloud (hybrid), networking, database environments Providing architecture, design and implementation leadership and expertise in the above areas. Designing new solutions, integrations, process enhancements and improvements to availability and resilience of the IT infrastructure landscape. Develop automation solutions to optimize processes and enhance efficiency and continuously enhance Standard Operating Procedures. Provide guidance and adherence to internal teams and to product /service vendors Create and maintain a comprehensive set of processes and procedures to ensure best practices in the support of these solutions. Manage and configure EXA Infrastructure’s virtualized infrastructure effectively. Engage with wider stakeholder / internal customer teams to ensure IT infrastructure is always available, and a high level of proactivity and customer-orientation is demonstrated at all times. Engage with CISO to provide input to cybersecurity strategy and to ensure agreed policies are implemented Engage with Application leads to ensure the required infrastructure capabilities are planned and rolled out to support their needs Individual Profile Extensive experience and a proven track record in IT Infrastructure, across compute, storage, cybersecurity, hybrid cloud environments. Proven experience as an Infrastructure specialist, with preferrable experience in having worked within a telco environment Should have a blend of strategic, architectural, operational and execution (hands-on) capabilities Hand-on experience and multi-skilled across VMware / virtualization and on other alternate platforms Good understanding of networking, advanced system administration and in-depth knowledge (Linux, RHEL, CentOS, Windows Server, VMware). Ability to evaluate technologies at scale, including messaging/queuing preferably Kafka. Experience with implementing cybersecurity technologies – IAM, PAM, EDR, NDR Experience with cybersecurity controls and standards – ISO 27001 / NIST Advanced scripting experience in Bash, Perl, Python Knowledge of configuration management systems such as Puppet, Salt, Ansible. Ability to work with/deploy clustering and HA solutions. Database administration familiarity – Oracle MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, PostgreSQL Experience in implementing processes to deliver support to the business. Experience with containers – Docker, Kubernetes, etc. Oracle DB administration experience. Dell/HP server hardware & storage knowledge. Microsoft Active Directory knowledge. Responsible person capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously.
