Core Responsibilities
1. Curriculum Delivery: Teaching General Science at Key Stage 3 and your specialist discipline (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics) at Key Stage 4 (GCSE).
2. Post-16 Contribution: For suitable candidates, there is the opportunity to teach A-Level or Level 3 BTEC Applied Science, supporting students in their transition to higher education.
3. Practical Leadership: Planning and executing safe, engaging practical lessons that meet the requirements of the "Required Practicals" and foster a genuine love for scientific discovery.
4. Diagnostic Assessment: Using data-driven insights to identify student misconceptions and tailoring your teaching to ensure all learners make exceptional progress.
5. STEM Enrichment: Leading extracurricular activities, such as Science Club or the CREST Awards, and coordinating visits to regional science centres and universities.

The Successful Candidate We are looking for a practitioner who can bring complex scientific theories to life with clarity and enthusiasm. Requirements include:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in a core Science discipline (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).
* Technical Proficiency: A firm grasp of the secondary science curriculum and the ability to teach across all three disciplines at Key Stage 3.
* Safety Consciousness: A total commitment to classroom safety and a thorough understanding of CLEAPSS guidelines for laboratory work.
* Effective Communication: The ability to explain abstract concepts—from atomic structure to metabolic pathways—in a way that is accessible and exciting for all ability levels.
