Your role: The Elanco Speke site is a large-scale manufacturer of multiple animal health premixes, oral solids and liquid formulations. The site has an aggressive process productivity and continuous improvement agenda as part of the broader Elanco manufacturing network. The Speke TSMS Scientist is responsible for technical stewardship of the pharmaceutical processes at the site. This includes the establishment of a reliable and compliant process through validation and daily process support activities as well as driving process improvements and process variability reduction. The Speke site also hosts R&D functions at the site, and it is important that the TSMS representative remain linked in to the broader technical community on site and in Elanco to develop a strong career. Strong candidates will have a background in Engineering or Science and a demonstrated proficiency in driving technical solutions, providing leadership, and partnering with multiple functions to get business results. Your Responsibilities: Develop and demonstrate strong knowledge of the technical and engineering principles governing the process. Monitor and respond to the key process and quality indicators that represent the process performance. Provide leadership in driving process improvements from either a productivity, throughput, or quality standpoint. Own the validation program for the process including process and cleaning validation. Partner with Operations to ensure clear manufacturing instructions are provided, and key issues are addressed. Capture key learning in technical reports to ensure the process knowledge-base continues to develop in a progressive manner. Support all safety and environmental policies/procedures, including coaching and feedback. What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications): Bachelors or Masters in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Microbiology or equivalent Effective communication skills Efficient approach to trouble shooting/problem solving Ability to respond to changing priorities Strong technical skills Customer focus What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications): Manufacturing or related experience.
