We are seeking to recruit a Regional Director - Building Surveying to lead and grow the building surveying function in support of the team lead and director across the Midlands region. This role combines strategic leadership, business development, client relationship management, and operational delivery to ensure high‑quality professional services and sustainable business growth.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement the regional business plan aligned with company strategy.
- Drive growth in revenue, profitability, and market share within the region.
- Identify new market opportunities, sectors, and service lines.
- Contribute to national strategy and leadership initiatives.
- Business Development
- Lead major client engagement and key account management.
- Secure new business opportunities, frameworks, and commissions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Represent the business at industry events and networking forums.
- Undertake bidding and tenders with the existing win work teams.
- Operational Management
- Undertake and oversee delivery of building surveying services including: professional services (e.g., TDD, dilapidations, party wall, defect analysis); project services (e.g., contract administration, refurbishment schemes).
- Ensure projects are delivered to quality, time, and budget expectations.
- Monitor regional performance, KPIs, and financial targets.
- Manage resource planning and utilisation across teams.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team in conjunction with the existing team.
- Recruit, retain, and develop talent, including succession planning.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, excellence, and accountability.
- Support professional development (e.g., APC support for MRICS candidates).
- Financial Management
- Set and control project fees, personal forecasts and growth.
- Ensure profitability of projects and cost‑effective operations.
Governance & Compliance- Ensure compliance with professional standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain high standards of health & safety and risk management.
- Uphold RICS and other relevant professional standards.
Key Performance Indicators
- Revenue growth and profitability targets.

Qualifications – Required
- Chartered Surveyor (MRICS or FRICS).
- Significant experience in building surveying consultancy or private practice.
- Proven leadership experience managing multi‑disciplinary teams or regional operations.
- Strong business development and client management track record.
- Commercially astute with experience managing budgets and financial performance.
- In‑depth knowledge of UK construction, property, and regulatory frameworks.
