Maintenance and Engineering Manager - (12 Month FTC) with a view to extend.
1. Main purpose of the job:
2. To provide supervisory support for engineering and maintenance teams
Main objectives and results :
3. Direct line management, coaching and training of Manufacturing Engineering & Maintenance team
4. Accountability for Project management of all aspects of projects to support site development and launch
5. Plan the workload for specific major projects across production shutdown periods
6. Lead cross functional on time, on cost product launches
7. Preparation of RFQ’s, contract review and risk management
8. Support continuous improvement activities
9. Liaise with outside contractors if required
10. Checking that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed to a satisfactory standard and following up on any deficiencies.
11. Successful co-ordination of running changes
12. Implementation and team adherence to IAC Project Management Systems
13. Manage plant interface in support of Program targets
14. Maintain IAC and personal credibility with the customer and balance of customer relationship and IAC profitability
15. Ensure Engineering and Maintenance KPI’s are updated
16. Ownership of resolution to off standards
17. Clearly identify and follow up issues requiring management intervention
18. Apply, execute and maintain function related Project Milestones/Timing Plans
19. Ensure continuity on current engineering and project deliverables
20. Lead engineering change customer quotation for Engineering function
21. Ensure IATF compliance for the Engineering and Maintenance functions
22. Develop capital plan supporting latest technology advances in JIT assembly
23. Develop cost effective service plans for major plant
24. Develop and manage Engineering and Maintenance budgets
25. Work with and manage maintenance teams to identify recurring and common faults and drive corrective actions based on impact in terms of frequency and total time stoppages.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
26. Candidates must be time-served multi-skilled Engineer, and preferably certified to HND / degree level.
27. Proven experience of Engineering, preferably within a high volume, automotive manufacturing environment.
28. Competent in Microsoft Office
29. Excellent organisational and communicational skills as well as a strong sense of urgency and an ability to work under pressure.
30. A Confident decision maker and proactive problem solver
31. Ability to work as an individual or as part of a team.
32. Experienced in managing and delivering significant CAPEX projects.
33. Experienced in working in a highly pressured and demand focused organisation.
34. Able to liaise professionally at ALL levels within and outside the Company
35. Knowledge of customer base, manufacturing processes and capabilities, company products, technology and efficiency
36. Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements – Health & Safety, LOTO, PUWER
37. 3 years of experience working within a JIT / Lean manufacturing environment
38. Working knowledge of MES, DC tooling, EOL electrical test and Vision systems is advantageous
