ROLE OUTLINE

This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop within a finance function in a global organisation. The UK Finance team operates as a close-knit unit, supported by a highly skilled shared service function in Hungary.

Reporting to the Head of UK Finance, the Credit Controller will take ownership of credit control and accounts receivable (AR) activities, while supporting the Shared Service Centre (GBSF) with accounts payable (AP) queries. The role also involves contributing to finance projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

The position is well suited to an individual with accounts receivable and credit control experience who is looking to develop their career within a dynamic, commercially focused environment.

Your REsponsibilities

1. Manage customer accounts to ensure timely collection balances in line with agreed credit terms
2. Monitor and forecast cash receipts, highlighting risks and delays proactively
3. Oversee credit insurance declarations and prepare quarterly submissions
4. Hold weekly credit control meetings with the sales teams.
5. Act as key contact for the Shared Service Centre (GBSF) across AR, AP and related processes
6. Monitoring and reporting of key KPIs such as Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and Average Delinquency Days (ADD)
7. Calculate customer rebates and process related credit notes accurately
8. Review and approve customer credit applications, ensuring appropriate risk assessment and documentation
9. Support external auditors with accounts receivable queries and documentation
10. Act as local Vendor Invoice Management key user, when required
11. Complete day-to-day finance administration tasks accurately and efficiently
12. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and controls

Your experience & skills

13. Experience working within the accounts receivable and credit control
14. Previous experience within a finance environment
15. Basic understanding of financial data, credit reports, and KPIs
16. A willingness to learn new skills and gain new experiences within a forward looking, commercially driven organisation at the forefront of sustainability
17. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
18. Confident communicator, with the ability to liaise effectively across teams and with customers
19. Experience of SAP (ideally, but not a requirement) and Power BI (if available)
20. Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
21. Strong attention to detail with a good understanding of business impact
22. Experience within manufacturing or construction (desirable)
23. Understanding of VAT fundamentals
24. Ability to work well within a team
25. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
26. Can self-motivate, prioritise and manage your own workload
27. Full UK Drivers Licence (desirable)

28. Salary from £30,000
