Overview
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a premier team of Human Resources Assistants at the 100 Force Support Squadron, Royal Air Force (RAF) Mildenhall, United Kingdom. The role supports recruitment and placement efforts within the Civilian Personnel Flight.
Responsibilities
Key duties include ensuring compliance with regulations and policies, generating reports to track critical deadlines for civilian employees, processing personnel actions, and providing data automation support for civilian personnel functions. The candidate will use various software applications to facilitate monitoring of critical suspensions on behalf of civilian employees, prepare correspondence memorandums, draft responses to supervisors and employees regarding recruitment and placement activities, and compose handouts and training materials for New Employee Orientation sessions. Additionally, the role involves responding to visitor and caller inquiries, furnishing information concerning a variety of programs and employment entitlements, and participating in special recruitment initiatives such as paid advertisements, job fairs, and job information seminars to promote employment opportunities.

One year of specialized experience in a similar role or four years of additional education above the high‑school level is required.

Key Skills
1. Knowledge of an extensive body of recruitment and placement rules, procedures, and operations to perform a wide variety of HR interrelated or nonstandard support work assignments.
2. Knowledge of different systems to enable input, storage, retrieval of data, and quality review of data elements.
3. Experience with automation software functions to support a full range of office operations and production of a variety of documents.
4. Skill in researching, analysing, interpreting, and applying personnel guidelines, policies, rules, and regulations.
5. Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
Conditions of Employment
1. Required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules, and regulations.
2. May be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft, and possibly travel to the US or other countries for official duties or training. This position may be coded as mission essential.
3. Required to complete a six‑month probationary period.
4. Overtime may be required; other duties not listed may be assigned as appropriate to the grade and skill set.
5. Must communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
6. May need to use own vehicle to meet tentative employees at the visitor centre in order to obtain evidence of identity.
7. Must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
8. Hours of work Monday to Friday 08:00‑16:30. Start and end times may be modified due to mission needs and flexible working policies.
