Are you a passionate STEM educator who can teach through the medium of Welsh? New Directions Education is seeking enthusiastic supply teachers specialising in STEM subjects to support Welsh-medium and bilingual schools across the region.
About the Role
We are looking for qualified teachers to work on a flexible, day-to-day, short-term, or long-term basis in secondary settings throughout Flintshire and nighbouring counties. Your role will be to:
1. Deliver engaging and innovative lessons in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics
2. Teach confidently through the medium of Welsh
3. Maintain high standards of classroom management
4. Make a positive contribution to pupil learning and achievement in STEM
Job Specification
The role of a Secondary Teacher is a far-reaching and rewarding role that shapes the futures of young people.
As a Secondary Teacher you’ll be expected to:
5. Hold QTS status
6. Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
7. Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
8. Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
9. Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
10. Maintain discipline
11. Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
12. Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
13. Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
14. Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
15. Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools
