An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic psychology graduate who has experience of working with children/young people to join the CAMHS Tier 4 Service as an Assistant Psychologist.
All young people who are accepted to the service will follow a structured programme, in line with relevant NICE guidelines (for example anorexia nervosa, depression, anxiety, emotional dysregulation). Interventions are delivered by a multi‑disciplinary clinical team comprising of: Consultant Psychiatrist, Psychologists, Nurses, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Dietitian, Family Therapist, Teaching staff, Support staff including Assistant Psychologists, Clinical Support Staff, Activity Co‑ordinator, Administrators and Managerial Support.
Responsibilities
* Supporting the delivery of clinical assessments, formulations, and individual/group/family interventions
* Working effectively as a member of the multidisciplinary team
* Working under appropriate clinical supervision
* Supporting quality improvement initiatives and conduct audits as appropriate
* Assisting with the efficient running of the service, including appropriate clinical administration
* Providing effective analysis of a range of facts and inputs to establish and apply evidence‑based formulation and options of care that can be negotiated with the child, young person and their families
* Adopting the principles of the Care Programme Approach (CPA) and working within the framework when assessing, planning and co‑co‑ordinating the care and medical treatment that a young person requires
* Receiving regular clinical supervision and management supervision as defined in the Trust policy and in accordance with professional practice guidelines
* Collecting and inputting accurate information relating to service performance, e.g. diagnosis, various outcome measures including CORC and Routine Outcome Measures (ROMs), maintaining effective ROM records and spreadsheets, and liaising with QNIC ROM
The successful candidate will join the multi‑disciplinary team and play a role in supporting the delivery of the structured clinical programme and psychological provision for the service. This may include supporting assessments, the effective use of routine outcome measures, and direct individual, group and/or family work, under appropriate supervision. The role may include contributing to multi‑agency meetings, clinical administration, audit and service development, and the training of others.
Qualifications
* Psychology degree (upper second or higher) and eligibility for graduate membership with the British Psychological Society
* Experience of, and a passion for, working with children and young people
* Excellent communication skills
