Reports to: Senior Corporate Accountant
PURPOSE
This role is a key part of the central finance function within the Corporate Head office. In particular responsibility for helping to prepare month end Actuals, Budgets and Forecasts, including variance analysis and commentary, and supporting the senior corporate accountant in dealing with ad-hoc queries from the business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Assist the Senior Corporate Accountant and Head of Corporate Accounting.
* Assist in the preparation of management accounts for Actuals, Forecasts,and Budgets with some responsibility for certain head office departments.
* Prepare detailed reports to present monthly Actual vs Budget/Forecast to department heads.
* Use systems and excel to analyse and validate Actuals, Budgets and Forecasts providing commentary to Senior department and finance stakeholders.
* Supervise and review purchase orders as part of month end process, driving the business towards early capture of expenditure to allow commitment reporting.
* Assist in the head office billing and recharging process building relations with other Fremantle entities and preparing and raising invoices as required.
* Act as a point of escalation to Business Services Group on any issues relating to intercompany balances, invoices, purchase orders, and payments.
* Assist in preparing ad hoc business analysis and support for tendering processes.
* Ensure efficiency of process and pro-actively identify opportunities for process improvement and commercial enhancement.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Essential
* Part-qualified CIMA/ACCA
* Self-starter who can equally thrive in an environment where they need to work independently, or take instruction from the Senior Corporate Accountant/Head of Corporate Accounting
* Record of effective collaboration across teams and a positive attitude to change
* Excellent communication skills
* Excellent attention to detail
* Experience using ERP systems, ideally SAP.
* Advanced Excel skills (proficient with sumif / pivot tables and vlookups)
* Highly organised with the ability to work to tight deadlines
Preferred
* Strong academics (including 2.1 degree level or higher)
* Passion for working in media
* Experience of working in a finance team in a large corporation / multinational company
