Business Architect

The post holder will, under the direction of the Senior Business Architect, be responsible for specifying and supporting the development requirements of a number of clinical and non-clinical applications to fully realise there is utilisation within and across the various clinical services operating across the trust.

As part of the Business Architect team, you will lead forward in the development and introduction of new technologies to deliver improved services and systems for the end users. The role includes leading a number of project and development work streams, responsibility for notifications to teams regarding system updates, systems development, configuration changes, security management, and liaison with other business areas and external suppliers to manage service delivery and retirement of systems no longer needed, so that the cost and quality benefits are realised.

The development and support team works within a service delivery framework, creating and consistently adopting best practice policies and procedures based on ITIL v4, release management, maintaining system configuration and documentation, managing faults and failures to resolution, and resolving data quality issues within any systems or application.


Main duties of the job

Lead the design, specification and ongoing development of clinical and non-clinical systems, working with internal teams and external suppliers to define technical and integration requirements.

Produce and maintain system, interface and integration specifications, ensuring documentation remains accurate and up to date.

Provide specialist system expertise to end users, facilitate workshops and stakeholder meetings, and manage issues through to resolution in collaboration with developers and suppliers.

Ensure system changes are effectively communicated and embedded, working within an ITIL v4 service delivery framework.

Maintain awareness of relevant standards and national initiatives, mentor junior colleagues, and manage own workload to deliver agreed outputs, including occasional out-of-hours support.


Eligibility

This vacancy is open only to internal employees of the following organisations within the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care System:

* Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust
* North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust
* University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust, inclusive of Black Country Procurement Group and North Midlands and Cheshire Pathology Service.
* Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board.


Person Specification


Qualifications

* Degree level qualification appropriate to post or equivalent experience.
* Hold IT qualifications appropriate to the remit of the work.


Experience

* Experience of formulating robust testing and software release documentation, development UAT acceptance criteria documentation.
* Significant or extensive experience of working in a demanding support and development of clinical systems.
* Experience of working to agreed time project time scales.
* Experience of configuration, change and release management to ensure standardised methods.


Skills

* Experience of working within a project environment.
* Experience in the identification of project requirements, design, and evaluation of outputs.
* Excellent knowledge of Clinical Applications either local or national hosted applications e.g. ServeLec Rio, Lorenzo IPM, TPP SystmOne.
* Knowledge of Clinical Coding within systems ICD-10, POCS-4 and SNOMED.
* Ability to write Standard Operating Procedures, Systems Documentations and FAQ's articles.
