Test Automation Engineer

We are seeking experienced automation professionals to join our team to deliver real value to our clients. Your role:
As an Test Automation Engineer you will be responsible to work in one or more teams of talented automation engineers. You will be responsible for all aspects of day-to-day management, planning, reporting, progress and risk management for the team, providing guidance and expertise to deliver successfully against your commitments.
You will work with other Sogeti and client stakeholders to ensure commitments are met.
You will be certified to ISTQB Foundation Level in Software Testing, as a minimum (or equivalent qualification)
Skills and Experience
1. Strong experience in automation testing, particularly with Playwright or similar tools.
2. In-depth knowledge of API testing.
3. Proficiency in Typescript
4. Proactive approach to adopting best practices and coding standards in testing environments.
5. Ability to design and execute test cases using standard testing techniques for functional and non-functional areas.
6. Develop and execute automated test cases for API and UI testing.
7. Work closely with software developers to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the code base. This will facilitate better test coverage and proactive issue resolution.
8. Design, write, debug, and refactor test code, emphasising maintainability and adherence to coding best practices.
9. Mentor and coach team members, helping to cover knowledge gaps and foster a collaborative testing environment.
Essential Skills:
10. Experience with API tools such as Postman, RestAssured and Insomnia.
11. Experience with test management tools such as Zephyr, Confluence, and Jira.
12. Familiarity with additional testing tools like WebDriverIO, Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, and test mocking tools like WireMock and Mockito.
13. Drive the integration of API and UI testing within a single framework using Playwright, moving away from separate tooling.
14. Engage with a strong-headed development team, effectively challenging and contributing to software design and decision-making processes to enhance product quality.
15. Lead by example in a team of 5 testers, ensuring continuity and efficiency in test processes.

Security Clearance requirement
To be successfully appointed to this role you will need to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks.
There are no nationality or residency restrictions, although if you have resided outside of the UK within the last 3 years, further checks may be required.
There are other criteria and check required for BPSS, and throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality.
