About the Role:
As a Nights Transport Shift Manager, you will be at the heart of operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of nightly transport activities. You will oversee a dedicated team, manage complex logistics, and ensure timely delivery of goods to valued clients. This is a pivotal role that requires strong leadership, impeccable organisational skills, and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the night shift transport operations team to achieve operational excellence.
* Ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
* Monitor and optimise transport routes and schedules.
* Maintain high standards of health and safety compliance.
* Liaise with clients, drivers, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and exceptional service.
* Manage and resolve any transport issues or emergencies that arise during the night.
* Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain environment (Ideally as a Nights Transport Shift Manager)
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
* Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
* In-depth knowledge of transport regulations and compliance.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
* Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and operational demands.
