The Opportunity
The Infrastructure Support Engineer plays a vital role in managing our in-house and hosted infrastructure. The successful candidate will support and maintain infrastructure, assist with projects related to infrastructure maintenance and migration, and serve as an escalation point within the Infrastructure team for technical and troubleshooting advice. The role offers involvement in various infrastructure projects, with occasional travel within the UK for on-site support, and participation in a rotational out-of-hours support schedule.
Responsibilities
* Support projects related to infrastructure maintenance and migration.
* Provide technical support to internal teams through escalations.
* Develop and document technical infrastructure solutions that meet functional and technical requirements.
* Evaluate technical options and recommend suitable technologies for infrastructure projects.
* Break down technical specifications into work packages, document prerequisites, dependencies, and resource estimates.
* Create technical proofs of concept to validate solutions, reduce risks, and clarify efforts.
* Travel to RM offices in the UK, sometimes on short notice; occasional visits outside the UK may be required.

Essential Experience
* Supporting and managing on-premise, cloud, and hybrid infrastructures.
* Knowledge of cloud technologies such as Azure.
* Experience with VMWare & Hyper-V.
* Hardware specification and network management skills, including routing, switching, VPNs, and wireless technologies.
Desirable Skills
* Experience with firewalls (Cisco ASA / Fortinet).
* Knowledge of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Windows Server, Linux.
* Experience with backup solutions like CommVault and Veeam.
* Powershell scripting skills.
