Associate Director - Consents Management Fyba Talent are seeking a strategic and experienced Associate Director - Consents Management to lead and develop a high-performing consents team, oversee operations, and support the delivery of high-quality infrastructure projects. This senior role blends technical leadership, commercial management, and team development. You will oversee a team of consents managers, ensure robust project delivery, and play a central role in business planning, work-winning, and client relationship management. What You'll Do Lead the promotion and delivery of Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects through Development Consent Order (DCO) legislation. Manage technical engagement programmes with stakeholders, including local authorities, statutory and non-statutory bodies, and the public. Oversee the preparation and submission of planning documents, such as Environmental Statements, Planning Statements, and Statements of Community Consultation. Provide planning and consents advice throughout the lifecycle of infrastructure projects—from site selection and scoping through to examination and consent. Coordinate input from technical disciplines to inform planning strategy and project design. Support post-DCO consent requirements, including Section 106 agreements and environmental permits. Champion collaborative and cross-disciplinary working, ensuring alignment with best practice, H&S, quality assurance, and compliance with legislation. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of consents managers and town planners, ensuring resourcing aligns with project demands. Drive practice growth, business development, and strategic initiatives, including tenders, fee proposals, and client engagement. Act as a senior point of contact for clients, regulators, and stakeholders, representing the discipline at industry events and forums. What We're Looking For Significant experience in delivering projects through Town & Country Planning legislation. Prior experience of Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects under the Planning Act 2008 or similar, including large EIA projects. Up-to-date knowledge of Professional Competence requirements. Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Demonstrable experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and delivering stakeholder engagement programmes. Commercial acumen and strategic thinking. Experience across energy, water, and transport sectors. Membership of the RITP and either fully chartered or actively working towards chartership is essential. Why Apply?
