Flights Manager
This leading specialist tour operator is seeking a commercially astute and experienced Flights Manager to oversee all flight buying and seat management across its portfolio of niche travel brands. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative and high-performing team, working across a diverse range of culturally rich and interest-led travel experiences. Salary up to £45,000, hybrid working preferred but fully remote (UK only) also considered for experienced candidates.
Flights Manager – Role & Responsibilities:
* Oversee all flight buying for group travel
* Lead and optimise the performance of the flights team
* Quote and book group flights, ensuring alignment with budget targets
* Maintain and update internal systems with the latest flight arrangements
* Liaise with product teams to communicate flight schedules, route options, and budget parameters
* Collaborate with Finance to manage flight payments, deposits, balances, and ticketing deadlines
* Respond to any aviation crisis or disruption, ensuring appropriate action is taken
* Research new flight routes and provide pricing for upcoming programmes
* Stay up to date with airline terms and conditions, managing allocations and refunds as needed
Flights Manager – Skills & Experience Required:
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar flights Manager / Aviation Manager / Air Product or Air Operations Manager role
* Strong understanding of airline contracts and fare types (IT, seat-only, published)
* Knowledge of IATA/BSP ticketing procedures
* GDS proficiency, preferably Amadeus.
* Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
* Highly organised with strong planning, analytical, and numerical abilities
* Confident team leader with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deliver under pressure
