We are currently recruiting for an experienced Technical Section Leader to join our client’s fleet of deepwater drillships. This is a rotational offshore position.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the technical department onboard the vessel, ensuring equipment reliability, safe operations and effective coordination with both the offshore management team and shore-based technical support. The role plays a key part in maintaining operational integrity, minimising downtime, and ensuring all activities are carried out in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide technical leadership and supervision across the technical department.
2. Ensure all equipment maintenance, inspections and operational activities are executed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
3. Support the Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) and senior rig leadership in maintaining safe and efficient drilling operations.
4. Coordinate troubleshooting, maintenance planning, and repair activities for critical equipment.
5. Supervise and mentor department personnel, ensuring competency, training, and adherence to safety standards.
6. Interface with technical heads of department and onshore support teams to resolve operational and technical issues.
7. Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company management systems and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
8. Proven offshore experience as a Technical Section Leader / Chief Engineer.
9. Minimum of 3 years experience in these roles on-board a drillship or deepwater semi-submersible within the past 5 years.
10. Strong technical knowledge of offshore drilling equipment, maintenance systems, and operational procedures.
11. Demonstrated leadership and team management capability in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual environment.
12. STCW Chief Engineer Unlimited (STCW III/2) Certificate of Competency.
