Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)
Location: Elton, Cheshire – Permanent. Salary: £56,000-£58,000.
Working hours: 39 hours per week; 3‑week rotation of 12‑hour shifts (2 days & 2 nights – 5 off; 2 days & 3 nights – 4 off; 3 days & 2 nights – 5 off).
As an Automated Warehouse Engineer reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, you will ensure the continuous operation of the warehouse cranes, conveyors, elevators, shuttle cars, and logistics rail head. You will carry out PPM work safely and within deadlines, and collaborate with Production, Dispatch and Filling to maintain warehouse efficiency and productivity.
Key Requirements
* Completed apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or Multi‑skilled (Electrical/Mechanical).
* At least an HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
* Experience following apprenticeship completion.
* In‑depth knowledge of three‑phase motors and inverter drives.
* Welding & fabrication (MS‑biased technician).
* Knowledge of hoist & drive gearboxes (MS‑biased technician).
* PLC Siemens 7 knowledge.
* Strong engineering acumen.
* Experience in high‑pressure logistics/warehouse in food, drinks or packaging.
* Comfortable working at heights up to 35 metres.
* Experience with automated cranes, NASC (Narrow Aisle Stacker Cranes) – advantage.
* Experience with automated conveyor systems.
