This is an exciting opportunity to work in a partnership role across two organisations, delivering support for people in the criminal justice system and at risk of homelessness. You will work dynamically across the City Centre with both CYC’s Navigator team and The Probation service, with some outreach to the prison system and attendance at virtual pre‑release panel meetings.
Key responsibilities
* Deliver homeless prevention and recovery interventions for those within the criminal justice system who are at risk of rough sleeping on the Probation caseload, with a focus on prison leavers.
* Support the development of and work within any agreed protocol, providing prison in‑reach and outreach, advice and assistance to those who risk being homeless upon release from prison or in the community.
* Undertake homeless assessments, casework and referrals to MoJ commissioned services and associated functions to enable both the Council and the Probation service to meet their statutory responsibilities.
* Provide outreach and support that aligns with the Council’s homelessness objectives.
Qualifications, competencies and vetting
To be considered you will need to:
• Complete a basic Criminal Record check (unspent convictions only) via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
• Undergo a Police Vetting request.
• Demonstrate, at interview, competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public in spoken English to CEFR level C1.
• Apply as a full‑time, non‑job‑share role (no shared hours).
