Our Client, a large Finance Sector firm, are seeking a Senior Payments Technician to join payments team.Reporting to the Payments Manager, you will primarily be responsible for the processing of a variety of company payments and expenses.
The main responsibilities will include:
* Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in outward payments, banking platforms, journaling, and MI reporting
* Support the Payments Manager in the daily running of the team, ensuring timely and accurate processing of all payments and receipts
* Maintain and enhance system controls, identifying and implementing improvements where necessary
* Analyse management information (MI) to identify trends, reduce risk, and improve internal processes and customer experience
* Build and maintain strong relationships with banking partners and internal stakeholders
* Provide training, mentoring, and support to team members, ensuring high standards of accuracy and performance
* Represent the team in meetings and projects, contributing technical expertise and leadership
* Confidently manage workloads and priorities in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
The ideal candidate for the role of Senior Payments Technician will have:
* A minimum of 5 years' operational experience in payments and accounts payable
* Expert user of banking platforms or similar and expert user of Microsoft Office Suite
* Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex information clearly
* A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and a passion for continuous improvement
* Experience mentoring others and leading by example
