Job Responsibilities
1. Provide care activities under the supervision of a registered nurse or medical practitioner.
2. Participate in needs assessment and care programme implementation, undertaking clinical activities such as minor dressings, medication administration, eye drops, and clinical observations (e.g., blood pressure) with NVQ evidence of competence.
3. Demonstrate skills to new or junior staff members.
4. Support patients, relatives, and friends throughout their care.
5. Conduct ophthalmology tests including Visual Acuity, OCTs, and Fields.
6. Ensure compliance with the NHS Constitution and promote equality and anti-discriminatory practices.
7. Prepare patients for examinations, assist with basic care needs, and support clinic setup and safety protocols.
8. Perform routine administrative tasks and maintain effective communication within outpatient departments.
9. Prioritize patient safety, adhere to emergency procedures, and follow infection control policies.
10. Operate independently in off-site clinics, recognizing limitations and reporting incidents appropriately.
11. Contribute to innovative service delivery, including telemedicine initiatives, and foster community engagement.
