About the Role:Looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant for the Group on a full-time permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a supportive finance team. You will report directly to the Group Accountant and play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the preparation of management accounts.Key Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Maintain sales and purchase ledgers accurately and efficiently.
2. Perform bank reconciliations, posting and balancing transactions.
3. Post journals, including accruals and prepayments.
4. Provide weekly wages information to the external payroll bureau.
5. Prepare and report on debtors and creditors.
6. Assist with quarterly VAT return preparation and submission.
7. Support the preparation of management accounts.
Person Specification:
8. AAT Level 4 qualified or nearingpletion (QBE considered).
9. Experience using Sage 50.
10. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel essential).
11. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
12. Flexible approach to work and ability to meet deadlines.
13. Excellentmunication skills at all levels.
14. Proactive attitude towards improving systems and processes.
Working Hours & Benefits:
15. Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:00am – 4:30pm and Friday 8:00am – 1:00pm.
16. Holidays: 25 days plus 8 statutory days.
17. Free on-site parking.
