The Role
We are looking for a reliable, hands-on Working Foreperson to join our experienced team. This is a key leadership position with responsibility for daily site management while continuing to work on the tools.
Responsibilities include:
* Carrying out skilled trade work (carpentry, masonry, roofing, etc.)
* Leading a small team on site and managing subcontractors
* Interpreting technical drawings and planning work sequences
* Ordering materials and overseeing deliveries
* Maintaining high standards of finish, tidiness, and safety
* Acting as the link between site, client, and office staff
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* Strong trade background (ideally carpentry or Bricky/Groundworker)
* Previous foreperson or supervisory experience
* Full UK driving licence
* Good communication, organisation, and leadership skills
* Ability to deliver consistent, quality work with minimal supervision and within time frames
Desirable:
* SSSTS or SMSTS
* First Aid at Work
* Experience with traditional or rural construction
* Interest in energy-efficient or Passivhaus principles
