As part of the Legal &ernance team, you will work alongside talented people from a mix of personal and professional backgrounds to support the foundation's fundraising charities: Guys' & St Thomas' Charity, Evalina London Children's Charity and Guy's Cancer Charity.
Your new role
The foundation are recruiting an experienced legalpliance professional looking to make a difference in how the foundation fundraise and support their fundraising charities (as mentioned above). As Fundraisingpliance Manager, reporting to the Legal Director &pany Secretary, you will lead and maintain a culture ofpliance across all elements of fundraising and supporter engagement. You will be the focal point forpliance, providing guidance and advice to colleagues ensuring that the foundation have sufficient controls and processes in place across all areas of fundraising. In addition, you will provideprehensive front line and administrative support, to facilitate best practice across Fundraising/Charity regulation and the General Data Protection Regulation and help embed this in the foundation's ways of working. You will produce and deliver training and supporting documents to upskill staff and to ensure consistency across the team, as well as identifying areas for improvement and development. You will keep your knowledge up-to-date and will be confident inmunicating with staff at all levels and with varying levels of understanding; in an engaging and accessible manner. Excellent organisation and project management skills will be required to ensure that projects and the day-to-day delivery and reporting ofpliance is on track.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will need to meet the following essential criteria:
1. Experience: You should have experience of working in apliance or similar function, with fundraisers, and in a regulated environment. You should also have experience in creating and delivering strategic objectives and plans, reviewing a variety of legal agreements, including gift agreements and similar documentation, and writing policies and procedures. Knowledge of the Raiser’s Edge or similar fundraising CRM system is desirable, or you should have a demonstrable ability to quickly grasp new data systems.
2. Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of UK Law, UK Data Protection legislation (in particular UK GDPR and PECR), Fundraising Regulations (Code of Fundraising Practice and Charitymission regulations) and a track record of how to apply them is essential.
3. Skills: You should possess problem-solving skills, the ability to understand and interpretplex legislation, regulations and guidance and make it accessible to others, and the ability to constructively challenge the status quo and see alternative solutions to ovee barriers.
4. Teamwork and Organisation: You should be an excellent team player willing to be flexible to support colleagues in a busy environment. You should be numerate with the ability to record and assimilateplex information accurately. Excellent time management with the ability to prioritise the work of a team and produce high-quality outputs is also required.
