Qualifications
Good standard of general education, including
English and Maths grade C or L4 or above
Completion of or Working towards Care Certificate
(to be completed within 3 months of start date)
NVQ qualifications in Health and Social Care or other

Experience
Practical experience of working with others in a busy
health setting environment.
Experience of using own initiative
Experience of greeting patients and visitors and making them feel welcome in a positive and friendly manner
Experience of working in a busy environment, co-ordinating booking patients in, taking phone calls and prioritising work and situations.
Job Description
As a key member of our clinical team, you will deliver a high standard of patient care and administrative duties within The Wye Clinic in both the outpatient clinic and the procedure room during weekend working hours. Working under direct and indirect supervision of registered nurses, consultants, and medical staff you will be required after appropriate training to undertake and maintain competency in a range of skills such as taking patient observations. You will contribute to the delivery of safe and efficient clinics ensuring patient dignity and confidentiality are respected. The ability to use your own initiative, multi- task, and work under pressure are all essential. To at times provide a high quality, professional reception and administrative service to patients, doctors, staff, colleagues, health service professionals and others. To act as the first point of contact for patients contacting The Wye Clinic and to portray the Practice in the highest possible professional basis.
Main duties and responsibilities
1. Assume responsibility for setting up portable medical and other equipment
2. Meet, greet, and reassure patients.
3. Maintain an overview of the outpatient clinic to ensure patients are seen on time and that clinic runs smoothly.
4. Ensure patients, families and carers are kept informed of any delays regarding their treatment, investigations, and clinic times in a professional manner.
5. Assisting the clinicians in sterile and non-sterile procedures e.g. positioning of patients, setting up trolleys and sterile equipment, act as a chaperone and assist during intimate procedures where required.
6. Maintain patient privacy and dignity for patients at all times and assisting patients with dressing and undressing where required.
7. Manual handling of patients and equipment in line with company policy.
8. Disposal of clinical, general and sharps waste in line with agreed policies and procedures.
9. Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment for patients, visitors and colleagues ensuring all equipment and stock is checked and restocked as necessary
10. Clean and prepare examination couches and other equipment between patients.
11. Use the provided computer system to download data, print clinic lists, discharge patients (compile discharge report and email to referring GP) and arrange any rebooking, as required.
12. Supporting the clinician in use of the computer system that records the patient consultations.
13. Explain procedures to patients and provide any after care instructions.
14. Hand out patient satisfaction questionnaires and encourage patients to complete and feedback regarding their experience.
15. Perform additional procedures following training as and when required e.g. observations, removal of dressings etc.
16. Adhering to health and safety and infection control standards, in particular hand and clinic hygiene.
17. To be able to act quickly in emergencies and following training, to be familiar with emergency procedures, including fire and basic life support.
Pay: £13.50 per hour

Education:
* GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
