What are we looking for We have an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer within our EC&I Team. You will be responsible for specifying the right technical specification of power supply unit on Proposals, FEED and EPC Projects. Working with Projects, Procurement, Compliance, Quality and other Engineering disciplines and externally with clients, vendors and suppliers. Responsibilities Prepare the power electronics technical specification and hardware planning with respect to regional grid connection conditions and project requirements. Design and preparation of power supply unit specifications based on international design codes and standards (IEC, NE, ATEX, CE). Develop electrical system architecture, electrical system requirements, electrical schematics, harness drawings, single line drawings, and field wiring diagrams. Participate in new product development teams, working on MW scale electrolyser modules. The design and development of complex busbar and cable interconnections. Assist in the development of plant layout to reflect electrical design considerations. Creating equipment specifications (transformers, rectifiers, switch boards). Approval, checking and preparation of design/engineering documentation (e.g. cable schedules, single line diagrams, load schedules.) Act as a technical authority on electrical issues. Creating Bills of Material/equipment lists and single line diagrams. Carrying out cable calculations. Playing an essential role in risk assessments, which make a key contribution to the safety and quality of our products. Review engineering deliverables prepared by external engineering contractors. Conduct power supply unit technical analysis and final supplier selection based on quality, technical and commercial considerations (Bid review based on good engineering practice). Managing of FEED, basic and detailed engineering phase and technical follow up ensuring proper communication with vendors. Manage budget, schedule and quality constraints, lead the determination of total cost of installation in cooperation with other disciplines and performing meetings with suppliers. Vendor document management within proposals phase and project execution. About You Knowledge and Experience Bachelor’s or master’s degree level or equivalent, in Electrical Engineering 5 years of experience in electrical and hardware planning for process engineering (large-scale) Extensive knowledge of the current European and North American standards and regulations in electrical engineering Experience in the field of electrical protection concepts Good command of technical documentation Familiar with hardware planning using electrical CAD systems Highly Advantageous Experience with hazardous area design and equipment selection – in accordance with ATEX standards (60079) Additional technical know-how in SOEC, SMR, fuel cells, clean fuel, energy storage systems and/or chemical synthesis (e.g. ammonia, methanol) Experience in chemical process engineering in EPC in carrying out Pre-FEED / FEED / Detailed engineering work A deep and thorough understanding of codes, regulatory requirements of hydrogen industry practices Knowledge of electrical installation design, wiring and schematics Some knowledge of grid connection, HV requirements and design is also preferred Knowledge of protection and coordination, rectifier units, EMC requirements and standards Skills and Abilities Strong communication skills Ability to manage projects and multi-task effectively Driven and self-motivated Understand safety, compliance, statutory and regulatory requirements Availability to travel internationally to site and vendors workshops Capable of critical thinking with solid decision-making skills Proficient with Microsoft suite of products, particularly Excel What We Offer The opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in a rapidly growing industry, within a dynamic environment where you can shape the future of energy and work with a team that’s actively addressing global climate challenges.
