Job details
As a P401 Bulk Analyst, you will be responsible for the identification and analysis of asbestos containing materials (ACMs) in bulk samples, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and high quality reporting in line with UKAS and HSE requirements.
What you will do
* Conduct bulk analysis of suspected asbestos containing materials in accordance with HSE guidance (HSG248).
* Prepare samples and perform analysis using microscopy and polarised light microscopy (PLM).
* Accurately record findings and produce detailed laboratory reports.
* Maintain laboratory quality standards in line with UKAS accreditation requirements.
* Follow strict quality control procedures and participate in proficiency testing schemes.
* Ensure equipment is maintained and calibrated appropriately.
* Adhere to internal health & safety and quality management procedures.
Who you are
* BOHS P401 – Identification of Asbestos in Bulk Samples qualification.
* Experience working in a UKAS accredited laboratory.
* Strong understanding of HSG248 guidance.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
