Location: Medical Education Directorate at NHS Lothian Role: Interprofessional Education Lead (Simulation) Position: Band 7 Salary Scale: £50,861 –£59,159 Contract: Job shared role with two vacancies available: 1 AHP and 1 Nurse working at 0.5 WTE each. Duties and Responsibilities As part of the Medical Education Directorate, the Interprofessional Education (IPE) sim lead will support and facilitate co-creation across undergraduate and postgraduate medical, nursing and AHP education and the clinical education teams to deliver on a portfolio of work. This will be achieved by working closely with local clinical and non-clinical stakeholders as well as the wider simulation team to deliver a portfolio of work by assessing local needs across adult and paediatric services in NHS Lothian. You will support local faculty and IPE programmes to guarantee and maintain quality assured sim-based education (SBE) that is grounded in up-to-date evidence and educationally sound principles. You will also support the ADME for Simulation in mapping and aligning sim-based IPE initiatives to both national and local priority areas to ensure transparency, safety, governance and avoid duplication, which, by proxy, avoids waste and the inappropriate use of resources. You will also assist with research and evaluation of IPE projects and programmes alongside supporting the implementation and integration of the Lothian Simulation Strategy (LSS) by overseeing local needs assessment, assisting with mapping these to key priority areas and supporting interprofessional. simulation based initiatives across the health board. Key Requirements To be eligible for this position you must have a willingness to engage and immerse in simulation-based education and have a track record of engagement with education within clinical areas and be able to demonstrate and evidence commitment to formal and informal teaching and training across a range of professional groups within the healthcare service alongside engagement with quality improvement and patient safety initiatives in the clinical context.
