Role Overview As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in helping to deliver targeted support to pupils, especially those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). You’ll support students in mainstream lessons, small group activities and one-to-one settings, helping them to access the curriculum with confidence and succeed in their learning journey. Key Responsibilities: Work with class teachers to support pupils’ learning and participation Provide focused support for pupils with SEND Help foster a safe, respectful and encouraging learning environment Support pupils’ social, emotional and behavioural development Assist with the planning and delivery of interventions and learning activities What We’re Looking For A compassionate and patient approach with young people Experience (paid or voluntary) supporting students with additional needs Excellent communication and teamwork skills A positive outlook and commitment to inclusive education No prior formal qualification in teaching is essential, enthusiasm, commitment and a genuine desire to support students’ development are what matter most.
