The role
As a Quality Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This is a brand new service which brings an opportunity to develop and mould the role for the quality strategy of the business.
Day-to-day, you'll:
1. Identify and control non-conformance from containment to preventative action, including trend monitoring, conducting/supporting investigations and working closely with the supply chain quality team to prevent supplier escapes into the business
2. Interpret specifications, standards and drawings and apply quality principles to establish quality requirements
3. Carry out dimensional checks of components to engineering drawings using traditional measuring equipment and portable coordinate measuring machine (CMM)
4. Carry out visual checks for any surface flaws, paint quality and identification requirements
5. Monitor performance against our organisational goals and use appropriate tools and techniques to drive improvement
6. Promote/help drive the "Quality Control to Quality Assurance" ongoing strategy
This role is full time, thirty-seven hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Quality Engineer
7. Established new quality processes and ways of working
8. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, procedures and supporting documentation
9. Ability to analyse data and produce trend charts to aid lean activity
10. Knowledge of workshop protocols
11. Good understanding of IT office systems (word, excel, outlook, power point)
12. Strong written and oral communication skills
Qualifications for the Quality Engineer
13. Quality related qualifications would be desirable, ideally to degree level however, quality experience in related activity is more important than qualifications
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
